As our company growth continues we are expanding our construction department to increase our estimating services. We are searching for a candidate who is detailed oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines.

In this key position, the qualified individual will support and/or lead the pre construction and bidding process for new construction, renovations, remodels, repairs or upgrades for our retail industry clients. Working under minimum supervision and following the companies standards, prepares comprehensive cost estimates including scheduling, quantity take offs, clarifications, value engineering and bid administration. 

The right candidate must have the following qualities:

Reviews all plans and specifications, permit set of drawings, owner and landlord requirements.
Prepares drawing list
Processes and distribute all R.F.I.s for estimating and job addendums
Generating scope of works for all trades
Prepare detailed instructions to bidders, trade specific clarifications and comprehensive bid packages.
Responds to all subcontractor inquiries in relation to bids
Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors; identifies qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.​ 
Prepares subcontractor comparison sheets for evaluation
Obtains specialty item information and prices including material supplier’s name, part names, part numbers, individual and extended prices, applicable freight and taxes to prepare purchase requisitions for parts and materials required. 
Prepares estimate turnovers and bid books to project managers
Develops and prepares post-bid buyouts including cost summaries of sub-contractors, equipment, materials and labor calculations for final review before submission to client.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years experience in the construction industry performing responsibilities equivalent to those listed above.
A comprehensive understanding of construction drawings, shop drawings and MEP systems found in retail construction applications.
Must have analytical abilities. 
Must be able to use Microsoft Office programs - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
Good communication skills - ability to articulate plan details orally.
Effective negotiation skills.
Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize work assignments.
Availability to work extended hours as required by project schedules or urgent circumstances.

Work Environment:
The primary duties of this position are performed in a general office environment.
